#1 Analyze: I believe strongly in the value of data. Portrait of a Graduate – first started by Dr. Fowler and now being continued by Dr. Vital Brulte – is a great tool for generating information about what our students need. I believe my years working as a project manager and estimator partnered with my years as a programmer at USD, have given me the perfect skillset for analyzing our District’s pain points.

#2 Communicate: I believe strongly in the value of communication. The board and its members should be honest, open, and transparent. They should function together as a team to work in partnership with the district staff, students, and their families. I have always excelled at customer service; I know how to meet the needs of the people I serve by asking “How can I help you?”

#3 Implement: I believe strongly in taking action. After analyzing and communicating, you have to act on the will of the stakeholders. This is not the board’s plan – this is the District’s plan. A successful Board does the work of its constituents. It has no agenda of its own.
